Prince Phillip looks very different in 14th century attire. Except for the hat. Phillip's hat is surprisingly accurate & that gives me joy.

Oh I wonder who this is......

I asked not too long ago for some suggestions (on Insta) for what era I should use as a basis for my Sailor Moon redesigns. And one clever follower suggested the 1930s... at first I was confused but then I re-discovered 1930s evening gowns and went Ooooooooh.... that'd be why. I played around a bit in my sketches but I kept coming back to the 1930s dresses.... and the very convenient men's wear that I... really didn't have to change at all. I tried on the top hat & mask but... they were mostly fun additions.

Sailor Moon was easily my first "anime". Not that anyone in my family knew what anime was back then but it's still technically true. My library had a copy of some of the first episodes, some episodes from the Dead Moon Circus arc (we are all about Tiger's Eye, Hawk's Eye and Fish Eye in this house) and possibly my favorite: 'Sailor Moon: the Promise of a Rose'. We watched these scratched CDs over and over, something about sparkles and the Power of Love/Friendship always resonates. (side note I was definitely one of those kids who thought the Scouts were way older than their "canon" ages so..... I've gone ahead and drawn their adult versions (except for Mini Moon).

The Ballads of Robin Hood - aka how this all got started “set” the tale in either the 1200s or the 1300s depending on the ballad. So... for some reason I did both? Don’t ask I’m not really sure why I did such a thing either. Luckily for me we have brushed through this era before so I have again opted out of the full barbette in favor of Princess Hair... because it’s me. But the kirtles, veil, and circlet are on brand enough for me to call it a good day.
