Following up my previous post, this is one of my favorite songs; @bumbleflyyouknow and I met them initially at Steampunk World's Fair several years ago after we stumbled into the release party for this video!
So if anyone wants a break from The Amazing Devil (or you know, have a housemate threatening to murder you if you play their album again) I have this afternoon discovered Danny Schmidt. The couple of songs I’ve listened to so far have a similar feral wistfulness.
I also recommend Eli August (may also be under “Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings” on youtube/spotify/etc. I don’t know I have enough of his music that I’ve never looked for it). He’s a sort-of friend of mine (I met him through one of his shows but we keep in touch regularly on Facebook and not just about music/gigs) but even if he weren’t, his music is very good, and especially his older stuff has a very vaguely-otherworldly feel, though more ghosts and ocean spirits than fae.
