Month Of Spreads 2 - Day One
The Inner Self Spread.
I’m using my own Elemental Hexagons deck for today’s entry for sure, maybe for the whole month. Not sure yet.
Hmm. Out of the 60 cards in this deck, there are only 22 of them with Tarot correspondences and now that I’m paying closer attention, all three in the layout as well as the bottom-facing card are all Tarot Major Arcana (TMA) cards.
1. What does my Inner Self want me to know at this present moment?
Arsenic - Ancient Witch Power - TMA II - The Priestess. This seems to be a reminder to not forget who I am.
2. Is there any advice or sign I’ve been previously given that has gone unnoticed that needs my attention?
Lithium - Emotional Stability - TMA XI - Justice. I see a few things in here, not the least of which is a reminder to tighten up the slack on some of my daily practice.
3. How can I become more receptive to listening to my inner self from this moment forward?
Oxygen - Combustion / Crystallize - TMA XVI - The Tower. Listening to my inner self will help me burn away the dross and crystallize my truth.
On the bottom of the deck, a card I check in with before reading just to make sure the deck is happy with how it has been shuffled and what the question is all about. Boron - Order in Chaos / Coincidence - TMA X - Wheel of Fortune. Clearly a deck ready to tell me what’s what!
#MonthOfSpreads2 Day Twenty-Seven: Guidance From Your Guides
See the full prompt at tarotprose. For my guide, I chose Nebt-Het, who I think of as my personal deity, and is to whom my temple room painting project was devoted. Other than that, though, I have been very slack on devotional work.
The card on the bottom, Copper - Conductor • Horus • Venus, a.k.a. The Hierophant, looked like clear indication to proceed.
1. Something my guide wants me to know. Cobalt - Evil Spirit • Radiotherapy. Nebt-Het says, “I know you are afraid. Your fears are valid.”
2. Something my guide wants me to pay more attention to. Tungsten - Ability to Hold an Edge. Nebt-Het says, “mediate more, drink less.”
3. Something my guide believes is hindering me. Iodine - Medical Profession. Nebt-Het says, “trust, but verify.”
4. How my guide is helping me through this. Niobium - Rites of Passage. She’s just laughing now.
5. How I can deepen my connection to my guide. Osmium - Endurance. Nebt-Het says, “study, research, observe, dig.”
6. Final advice from my guide. Hydrogen - Building Blocks, a.k.a. The Magician. Nebt-Het says, “you are stardust.”
#MonthOfSpreads2 Day Nineteen: Gratitude With Attitude
Pull five cards from your deck however you see fit. Read the spread as follows:
1. What can I be grateful for in my life? 2. What in my life am I taking for granted? 3. How can I bring more awareness and appreciation to the people and things in my life? 4. How can I be more grateful for the experiences and lessons I learn throughout my lifetime? 5. How can I easily implement more gratitude into my life today?
Trimmed the instructions down a bit. Also took my photo three times and flubbed the framing all three times. This one is OK, I guess.
The card on the bottom after my shuffle and cut routine is Helium - Flight to Safety, a.k.a. The Fool. This seems like a happy and safe card, so the shuffle is good.
1. Germanium - Disagreement • Neptune. I’m seeing this as being grateful for my internet friends with whom I watch the train wreck that is the political news.
2. Gold - Sun God • Osiris • Ra, a.k.a. The Sun. Yeah, I’m taking a LOT for granted. What was that about privilege?
3. Chromium - Superficial Flash. More appreciation in the superficial? Let my attention be caught by the shiny thing, it’s OK.
4. Tungsten - Ability to Hold an Edge. How to be more grateful for my lessons is to remain sharp, stay discerning.
5. Platinum - Ptah • Opener of Ways. Gratitude is implemented by opening ways for others. I’m grateful that I was able to lighten the loads of some of my aforementioned internet friends by contributing to a couple different funds.
#MonthOfSpreads2 Day Twelve: DIY Spread
Tarot and divination is a great tool for answering questions and analyzing situations from a different perspective. Today we are not going to be doing that. lol Instead you will be using the cards pulled to create your own spread. I am a firm believer that while the cards can provide us answers, they also hold questions and spread positions within them as well. This can add an additional layer of meaning to your readings if you so choose to use it that way.
Step One: Shuffle your deck or mix up your divination tool of choice. How many times and however long is completely up to you.
Step Two: Pull three cards however you see fit.
Step Three: Look at each card pulled and find the question within that card to create your own prompt or spread.
There’s also a bonus suggestion in the instructions I trimmed out that said to do a reading with the spread, so that’s why there are six cards in the photo. The top row are the prompt cards, the bottom row is the reading.
First, the cards of the top row and the prompts they suggest to me:
Platinum - Opener of Ways. “What obstacle are you facing now?”
Arsenic - Ancient Witch Power, a.k.a. The Priestess. “What mystery is revealed beyond the obstacle?”
Barium - Roses and Thorns • Wisdom, a.k.a. The Star. “What wisdom and hope does this mystery bring?”
The reading itself goes like this:
Chromium - Superficial Flash. There’s something distracting me from seeing what I need to see. “Shiny thing!”
Aluminium - New Technology. Hmm. There’s a card in my deck for ‘future technology,’ so this is about a mystery that isn’t ancient, but is already fully formed.
Sulphur - Chemical Pollution, a.k.a. The Devil. I’ve always had the ability to see beyond the shiny thing. If I’m distracted, it’s because I choose to be.

#MonthOfSpreads2 Day Four: Focus
Step One:
Shuffle your deck or mix up your divination tool of choice. How many times and however long is completely up to you.
Step Two:
Pull five cards from your deck however you see fit.
Step Three:
Read the spread as follows
1. What needs my attention?
2. What am I focusing on instead/ What is distracting me?
3. How can I shift my focus?
4-5. What resources can I use to help keep me on track?
Checking in with the shuffle, I got Iodine which suggested the deck is ready to give me a clinical, professional analysis.
1. Palladium - Ma’at • Sekhmet. What needs my attention, eh? Again with the personal practice message. Not terribly surprising.
2. Argon - Completion. Corresponding to the Tarot Major Arcana card The World, I know that’s all about how I spend too much time distracting myself with the news. I suppose it could also be about finishing projects or lack thereof prickles around in my brain...
3. Selenium - Thyroid • Growth. Shifting my focus through regulated growth is an echo of yesterday’s gentle spread. Doing this challenge this month may well be one of the tools I can use to do this shift.
4. Helium - Flight to Safety. Corresponds to The Fool. Interesting that the first resource to keep on track is from the same sub-suit as the card signifying my distraction. Interesting that it’s the Alpha to my distraction’s Omega.
5. Molybdenum - Universal Body. In some ways I can see this card reading almost the same as The World. What I’m getting from this and the previous card is that the resources to keep on track have to do with dissecting my distraction, to separate it, be more discriminate in where I apply my attention.
#MonthOfSpreads2 Day Thirty-One: The Halloween Reading
After my shuffle and cut, checking in with the bottom facing card, Iron - Old Technology • Mars, a.k.a. The Chariot indicates it is clear to proceed.
1. The Candle: A look back to the past. Selenium - Thyroid • Growth. I like to think I’ve made progress, whatever that actually is.
2. The Pendulum: A review of the present. Lead - Shielding • Saturn. Still moving slowly, hiding under a rock. Interesting that the bottom card and these next two are all classical alchemical metals corresponding to the planets. Saturn is the outermost, slowest moving planet of the bunch.
3. The Magic Mirror: A glimpse into the future. Mercury - Mutability • Quicksilver. At almost the opposite end of the planetary order here (the Moon is the fastest), the quicksilver messenger suggests the past growth continues and the Chariot continues to drive through the planetary spheres.
#MonthOfSpreads2 Day Thirty: The Monthly Hope Reading
Sometimes all we need is hope for a new chance or beginning. Now that we are nearing the end of October, I think we should have something to look forward to in the following month. This is where this spread comes in. I call it The Monthly Hope Reading
Step One: Shuffle your deck or mix up your divination tool of choice. How many times and however long is completely up to you.
Checking in with the card at the bottom reveals Mercury, again. Same as yesterday’s, and I had two other shuffles between now and then which also resulted in this card being on the bottom face.
Step Two: Pull five cards from your deck however you see fit.
Step Three: Read the spread as follows:
1. What good things do I have to look forward to next month?
Cerium - Ceres • Prometheus. I will be able to effectively use my gifts.
2. How can I prepare myself for this new month?
Nickel - Cost of Living. Get a solid handle on the costs of the Big Project.
3. What part of my life should I bring with me from the previous month?
Vanadium - The Seeker, a.k.a. The Hermit. Keep up with the search!
4. What part of my life should I leave or let go of from the previous month?
Helium - Flight to Safety, a.k.a. The Fool. Stop hiding!
5. How can I remain hopeful for this new month?
Rubidium - Live in the Moment. Be Here Now.
