#element eleven

(sorry for lack of updates, big moves and changes occurring!)

Anyway, me and the rest of the crew over @ Analogue Spheres decided it was about that time to round up our favorite albums of the year. It's been yet another solid year in music, with musicians blossoming left and right from otherwise unlikely places. The internet continues to push the boundaries of what can be accomplished sonically and aethetically and we are here to reap the benefits. It's always fun to look back at another year and pick through the the sounds you truly believe stuck out as being the best of the best. Which brings me to this post.

Element Eleven is a duo i've been meaning to mention since i first heard their debut album A Spark in Space as Only Landmark a few months back. The duo consists of Swiss producers Cross-Y & Rize, who have each respectively put out a full-slate of albums over the past few years. Together, they craft some of the most intelligent and sought after electronic beats I have heard thus far. The production is seemingly flawless and each song off the album hits you with pads and crunchy synth lines that are elusively infectious. A vast array of samples, tempo changes, and everything in between, making this one of my top picks of 2012. Definitely for fans of Flying Lotus / Samiyam / or many others on the Brainfeeder label.
