EL ARMARIO DEL ELECTRO-DISGUSTING

Hoy voy a analizar el vestuario de uno de mis grupos de música favoritos, Las Bistecs, pero para empezar con este análisis primero tengo que hablar un poco de su estilo de música, que no es habitual.

Como ellas mismas dicen, su música es electro-disgusting y su objetivo es provocar y molestar al público, para lo que usan sus conjuntos, su puesta en escena, su mensaje...etc.

El grupo está formado por dos chicas, Carla Moreno y Alba Rihe, que viven en Barcelona, y es un proyecto musical y performativo que incluye música, shows en directo y piezas audiovisuales.

Ambas afirman que no saben cantar ni bailar y utilizan el humor para dar a conocer su mensaje.

Se inspiran en Almodóvar, en la movida madrileña y en la estética de la década de los ochenta, y según ellas, la estética es un factor clave de Las Bistecs, siempre entre el exceso y el brillo.

Para desarrollar sus conjuntos cuentan con la ayuda de profesionales de la moda que las guían hacia el uso de la lycra y el lúrex. Un ejemplo es la ropa del videoclip de ‘Caminante’, una de sus últimas canciones. En el video llevan un total de cuatro conjuntos cada una.

Al principio, las dos chicas llevan un vestido de tirantes corto y de color negro pero en la siguiente escena Carla lleva unas botas negras a la altura de la rodilla, una camisa de fútbol a modo de vestido y un abrigo acolchado de color rojo. Alba lleva un conjunto similar pero con botas blancas y un vestido de manga larga y lentejuelas doradas bajo una camisa beisbolera larga y azul.

El tercer conjunto que lleva Carla está formado por unos pantalones de chandal de color negro, tenis blancos a juego con las rayas del pantalón y una camiseta básica blanca debajo de un sujetador amarillo. Igualmente Alba lleva una camiseta negra y tenis negros combinados con unos pantalones flojos con detalles en blanco, rojo y amarillo.

El ultimo conjunto es un contraste entre ambas chicas.

Carla lleva un ‘todo en blanco’ formado por unos pantalones de pata de elefante de color blanco unidos a un top corto y con zapatos blancos de plataforma. Por otro lado, Alba lleva un vestido de doble largo de color negro con unas medias de rejilla y stilettos también negros.

Para terminar el conjunto, ambas llevan un sombrero de vaquero del mismo color que su ropa.

THE WARDROBE OF THE ELECTRO-DISGUSTING

Today I’m going to analyze the wardrobe of one of my favorite music groups. They are Las Bistecs.

To begin with this analysis I have to talk about their style of music, which is not usual.

As they say, their music is electro-disgusting and what they want with this is to annoy and provoke people with their music, their message, their videos and their outfits.

The group is formed by two girls, Carla Moreno and Alba Rihe, that live in Barcelona, and it is a musical and performative project that includes music, live shows and audiovisual pieces.

Both of them affirm that they don’t know singing or dancing and they use humour to send their message.

To create their art, they are inspired by Almodovar, the spanish movida born in Madrid and the 80’s decade esthetic.

According to them, the esthetic is the key factor of “Las Bistecs” and it’s always between excess and brightness.

To develop their outfits, they have the help and support of fashion professionals and designers that guide them towards the use of lurex and lycra. Examples of this are the clothes that they wear in the videoclip of ‘Caminante’, one of their latest hits.

In this video, they wear a total of four looks each one.

At the beginning, both of them wear a crosspiece black and short dress, but in the next scene, Carla wears black knee-high boots, a big football t-shirt decorated with numbers and a red quilted anorak. Alba wears a similar outfit but with white boots and a gold-sequins longsleeve dress under the blue baseball style shirt.

In the third look, Carla wears a black trousers with two white stripes, a white t-shirt under a yellow bra and white sneakers. Equally, Alba is wearing a black t-shirt with black sneakers and slack trousers decorated with yellow, white and red details.

The last combination is a contrast between both girls.

Carla wears a total white look formed by flared long trousers united to a tight crop top and white platform shoes. On the other hand, Alba’s outfit is formed by a black dress with an asymmetric hem combined with black fishnet tights and black stilettos. To finish the outfit, both girls wear a cowboy hat according to de color of the look.
