The carafe has a capacity of 1.7 L and has measurements marked on it for easy measuring (0.5 L, 1 L, 1.5 L, 1.7L). The inner wall of the carafe is made of FDA-approved glass with a food-grade stainless steel bottom and the outer wall is made of a BPA-free plastic. The digital temperature control makes it easy to set the temperature of the water and can be adjusted by 1 degree or 10 degree increments (short press for 1 degree and long press for 10 degree on the + button or - button). I like this feature because you have the ability to control the exact temperature of the water. There is a keep warm function that allows you to set a temperature and the kettle will keep the water at that temperature for up to 12 hours. The kettle does have boil-dry protection, which prevents you from setting the keep warm function to a temperature over 200 degrees Fahrenheit. When the kettle is heating the water it has blue illuminating LED lights to give it a unique look. The kettle is simple to use and easy to clean as well. There is a tea infuser that is included and it easily locks onto the lid of the kettle. The tea infuser is really nice and works well. I boiled 0.5 L (minimum amount) of room temperature water in 2-3 minutes and refrigerated water in about 5 minutes. I boiled 1.7 L (maximum amount) of room temperature water in about 6-7 minutes and refrigerated water in about 8-10 minutes. I like that it boils the water a lot faster than a stovetop kettle, and even faster than using a microwave. While boiling the water, the sides of the carafe do not get hot, but the top stainless steel piece and the lid do get hot. The power base keeps the power cord neatly stored underneath of it when it’s not being used. The kettle has a detachable power base, making the carafe itself cordless. I like the detachable power base because the kettle is more portable and easier to clean. The power base has a cord keeper slot that keeps the cord securely in place when it’s stored and also allows the base to sit flat when the kettle is being used. My only concern/issue with the entire product is this cord keeper slot. The slot on the base holds the cord very tight and has made a small dent in the power cord already. I have only had the kettle for about a week and have already noticed a couple of marks on the cord from that slot. I worry that repeatedly putting the cord in the slot and taking it out will end up possibly damaging the power cord. I stopped putting the cord in the slot when I store it. When I use the kettle I just sit the base down with the slot over the cord just enough so the base sits flat. I think it would be better to make the slot wider with a silicone cover, this would protect the cord from being damaged and also grip the cord to keep it in place. Overall, the product works really well and has excellent quality. My only concern is the cord keeper slot on the power base, but that’s something that can easily be prevent by not putting the cord in there. Sam sure does love to spoil his girls! Last night he ran to Walmart after his haircut to grab a couple new toys for the girls dolls. They’re really into their my life dolls right now (Walmart brand American Girl). He grabbed Eny a new outfit and Ella a wheelchair. He got home with dinner and asked me to help him “bring in the drinks”. He got gift bags for their stuff. So I helped him wrap them up and we brought them in. They girls flipped out and gave daddy lots of hugs and kisses and thank yous. Well then Sam went back out while I was doing something in the kitchen. My sneaky husband canes back in and says “babe?” I turn around and he has placed a brand new electric kettle on the table. Sneaky sneaky sneaky!
