Congratulations to Tammy Baldwin for being the first openly gay senator in united states history! 

Congratulations to Maine for marriage equality! Finally..

But in my mind Obama was the lesser evil, and I'm generally glad he's back in office.  Mitt Romney terrified me, and the thought of him in a seat of power, being able to make backdoor deals and shady transactions, controlling large sectors of the government, no thank you.

I had enough of all the fraud and the deceit in this election.  I'm really glad that collectively as an American society we've progressed so much, from selecting the first black American president to promoting values of equality in all aspects.  I'm glad it's over.  I just hope that people realize the power doesn't lay in the president, it lays in the people.  It's the founding principle of democracy, and sometimes it doesn't seem that way, but people need to realize that they're the ones who select the laws, the ones who choose the senators, who choose the presidents, etc.
