𝐎𝐎𝐅. someone does not look impressed.

“ did you AT LEAST get milk ??? ”

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤. All night he's been trying to track delayed ships and balance the current check; and yet at every end there's one mark missing.

Perhaps @eldritchborn sensed its partner's festering annoyance. The illithid tries to keep his emotions under a tight ship to avoid concern amongst their small colony, and yet... When Us angles towards the back of his office, The Emperor finally catches Omeluum lingering near it's wall of tomes.

" ...I don't mean to worry you. " Lifting from his seat, the illithid's throat clicks with rare infatuation. His palms face upward in hopes the scholar will take them. " Did I disrupt your studies? "

not even a LITTLE yearning??

loud & deafening silence. not accepting.

heat fills her cheeks like a flood,  burning from the tips of her ears to the bobbing curve of her throat,  torn between glaring at the dragonborn or glaring into the fire.  she chooses poorly because her traitorous body seems incapable of resisting - her brown eyes flicker down,  subconsciously 'assessing' the woman before turning away completely.

the campfire is between them and maesena chooses to believe that's the cause for how flustered she gets  -  that the lighting has something to do with the wash of heat in her chest,  the fact that she's not..  entirely upset by the action.  and only half upset by who it comes from. 

although wyll has proven to be a surprising exception to maesena's natural distaste for warlocks,  she isn't yet sure kas is the same.  she knows so little of her besides her sly remarks and silly jokes that it's hard to know or trust the heart beneath the iridescent shine of her scales.

don't focus on the shine,  maesena.  idiot.  teeth clip the corner of her lip and she stands up,  unsure whether she wants to confront the meaning of this or if she wants to skitter away,  tail tucked between her legs.  some mighty paladin she is.

in the end she chooses bravery despite the embarrassment of how hot her face still is,  pink dusted heavily over fairness and freckle,  brow set to a hard line as she passes the fire and stops in front of the dragonborn.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐬– the kiss sends a spark of warmth through his tentacles. His hand wraps around the scholar's waist, pulling them close to lay a single tentacle over their shoulder, and place a small kiss of his own on their temple...

???

He blinks, and looks at the...canid? Sniff. Jackal? Alien? His huge head sways and tilts to either side to get a better look at him, and then he snorts out, a plume of smoke-scented steam billowing out in twin streams.
