OKAY , SO ord feels really close to all of the elders , despite never having had particularly intimate relationships with most of them. they’re the only beings who share remotely similar histories and experiences to him. there’s an unspoken solidarity there —— which is perhaps one of the most important things in his life. it keeps him going . as one of the more mild-tempered and generally moral elders , he usually ends up on the ‘ good ’ side of his brethren and is generally adored by them. he doesn’t always agree with some of their perspectives and practices ( for example , he condemns en dwi’s contest of champions ) , but he’s always there for them when they need him.
and now , here are some specific headcanons for a few of elders ( which wow , can u believe , are all our muses ? ) :
1. the grandmaster
ord holds en dwi in very high regard. as one of the older members of their order , he has a certain amount of life experience ( and POWER ) that is respectable. the grandmaster’s quirkiness is something that he understands —— a point that endears en dwi to ord. he’s not necessarily someone he would seek advice from , but there are certain matters of cosmic nature that he knows he can rely on en dwi to provide sound counsel for. as stated before , there are things he does that ord doesn’t agree with , and a sneaky , sweet comment will sometimes be made to indicate as much. also , ord isn’t very fond of the immortality stunt that en dwi pulled , but more on that later !!
2. the collector
in all honesty , despite loving taneleer to the farthest moon and back , ord is quite INTIMIDATED by him. he has an absolute fear of disappointing him , and what the consequences will be if he does. still , taneleer is probably the one that ord would most often solicit personal advice from. he knows he’ll receive some much needed tough love , and can trust him to not care enough to lie.
3. the stranger
although they duked it in the past ( causing them to lose possession of two of the infinity stones ) , ord holds no ill will towards the stranger. if given the opportunity , he would very much like to hear his side of the conflict , and regardless of whether or not he agrees with it , would apologize for his own actions. ord doesn’t like for conflicts to fester and turn into grudges , and the thought of any of the elders being angry with him would totally eat him alive.
4. the runner
gil is that cool younger sibling that ord wishes he could be more like. he’s wild and carefree —— and pretty regularly insists that ord loosen up a bit. their friendship is a bit like the stereotypical high school jock who grows a soft spot for one of the nerdy , quiet kids and pledges to protect them from all the other assholes in the school. ord would probably consider gil his closest friend , and he just really loves him okay ??
