Had a fun time first time Natural dyeing. Well first time ārecordedā. I experimented with avocados once but didnāt use a mordant. So here are pics of my elderberry dyed wool. Short version of whatās what is... Darker skeins soaked for 24 hours. Lighter skeins simmered for 35 mins each after removing the dye material (second one came out lighter). Vinegar used as Mordant. (Iāll see how fast it set when I knit with it š) Bare yarn is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes superwash worsted wool. Iāve learned it makes the process easier when I remove the dye material before adding the yarn. š Not sure if thereās a right or wrong way for that cause Iāve seen both ways but I feel Iāll be finding seeds for some time after lol. #creates2finds #naturalplantdyes #elderberrydye #wooloftheandes #knitpicksyarn (at Salem, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2KPIzIJr0T/?igshid=tqph8av3l1r5
