Secret Memory 15 -Ā Little Light
Silky golden hair, eyes sparkling like a pair of sapphires, and an unending passion for adventures. Although a sheltered and usually obedient child, Zalie was never one whoād conform completely to rules.
Yes, she was like a linnet bird who never learned how to fly, but that didnāt make her any less free.
She was no older than 171 years when the temple doors opened one certain morning. Elder Raphall had just returned from his errand in the Mortal Realm.
And tagging along right behind him, was a little girl.
Orange hair (or cantaloupe, as how Elder Eden defined) and eyes matching that color, except... Cloudy with white pupils. Was she blind?
Elder Raphall let the girl stay in the same room where Zalie was, and went off to a meeting with the other Elders not far from the area. And ofĀ course the young Light Goddess wasted no time in trying to know who that girl was. Was she a demigoddess, a Magic-born, or maybe lost her parents?
Naturally the newcomer said nothing. Each question Zalie asked her was only met with silence. And when she tried one more time...
ā... Well, er, do you have a name? You gotta have one, right?ā
The girl, Aletheia spoke in a meek voice, catching Zalie off-guard with the sudden response.
ā... Ah. Thatās... Thatās a good name!ā
āYeah! And my nameās Zalie!ā
āZalie... Pretty name too...ā
Only later in the day would the Elders explain to the then Heir of Hope about Aletheiaās bleak origin and blindness. But that did not matter, as she still wanted to befriend the new Goddess. And as time passed, that feeling was reciprocated.
It was that little light in Aletheiaās life that had sparked a friendship between the Heir and the Prophet.
Even many years later, when Zalie had to partake in responsibilities as Heir of Hope and therefore couldnāt visit Aletheia as often, they were still very close friends.
... Were theyĀ ājustā friends though?
