#throwbackthursday Inside the Farley Brothers Blacksmith Shop at East Jersey Old Town Village in Piscataway, #NewJersey. The family-run #blacksmith shop, dating circa 1850, was located in New Brunswick, New Jersey along what is now Route 18. The building was saved from demolition in the early 1960s and moved near the horse track in Johnson Park in Piscataway. A number of years later it was moved yet again to the newly established East Jersey Old Town Village. It reopened in 2007 with a well-researched exhibit on #blacksmithing with a focus on Central NJ blacksmiths, tools of the trade, and a history of the shop. #tbt #nj #njhistory #SpreadTheHistory #historygirl #archi_ologie #architecture #history #americanhistory #blog #blogger #travelblog #travelblogger #jerseycollective #explorenj #restoration #preserved #journeythroughjersey #piscataway #piscatawaynj #eastjerseyoldtownvillage #ejot #johnsonpark #middlesexcountynj #blacksmithshop #smithy (at East Jersey Olde Towne Village)
