Congrats to the new #EisnerAward judges! Having attended the ceremony last year, I have a new appreciation for the weight this bears in the #ComicBook industry. 👏🏼 #SDCC #ComicArt #SequentialArt #Awards
This year's Eisner Ward Judges have been announced: Tiffany Babb, Jerry Dear, Dr. Randy Duncan, Katie Pryde and Regine Sawyer

He won his first Oscar last year, and now Godzilla has clinched his first Eisner. (Very funny that he never even got an Eisner nomination until after the Oscar nomination.) I thought the stories in 70th Anniversary were a fairly mixed bag, with many just feeling like "a Godzilla story" instead of "an anniversary Godzilla story", but the highlights ("The Half-Century Bore", "In the Shadow of a God", and "Aftermath") were truly spectacular. And always nice to see Godzilla winning accolades!

it's not even funny how out of place LO looks alongside all the other Eisner nominees, and YES I took the example panel straight from the episode that was linked on the 2024 nominations list-
like i'm not joking when i say that the eisners risk losing every shred of its credibility in the webcomics category if it awards LO for the third year in a row, they don't even fucking compare
(btw the webcomics up for nomination in the order listed above are:
Matchmaker (Indie)
Asturias: The Origin of a Flag (Indie, but commissioned by the Government of Asturias if you can believe that! a lot of its panels are animated, it's really cool!)
Daughter of a Thousand Faces (Tapas Original)
Unfamiliar (hosted in Tapas' F2R section but it's been indie for years)
3rd Voice (Webtoon Canvas)
and ofc LO which is Webtoons' only Originals series up for a nomination this year, I would be absolutely over the moon if a Canvas / indie series won this year just to stick it to WT and Tapas lmao)
To the Eisner Award jury panel:
CW: racism, abuse
There is a petition going around to rescind the Eisner nominations for a comic made by a racist, abusive, and all-around horrible creator.
This comic should have never been published, let alone receive 4 Eisner nominations.
Please sign it and share, it only takes a minute! You don't have to be a comic creator to sign, just a comic reader.
Some context for those unfamiliar (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7)
There's a lot more but I won't link the most disturbing stuff (please do not add it to this post if you know what I'm referring to).
