The third night of the festival is upon them. He watches as the others head to the beach, his own lantern in hand. There are a few names he chooses to remember on a night like this, but for once, he feels so alone.
He doesn’t end up walking toward the beach; but instead, back toward his own apartment. Maybe it’s time to call it a night after all. But that’s when he spots him; someone else holding a lantern, sitting alone. Perhaps it’s the mood he’s in, or the spirit of the festival, but Klavier moves awkwardly toward the bench, clearing his throat.
“Is this seat taken? I saw you weren’t heading toward the beach, so...”
He doesn’t know where he’s going with this, but shifts awkwardly, holding his lantern in one hand.
