→ eichi is a vile, vile man, and his ambitions to revolutionalise yumenosaki had only served to destroy the lives of many - including natsume. natsume knows that he will never, ever be able to forgive eichi for his grisly sins, and yet when eichi tells him with a bright smile that he doesn’t expect that, natsume wonders why he thinks things like ‘what a damn waste of such a pretty face’.

→ and eichi, of course, doesn’t expect much to change to the hostile relationship he shares with natsume, but natsume still does interest him, human or monster. he finds himself swinging by the switch practice room time to time to chat with tsumugi, but perhaps his true intention was to watch the brooding look on natsume’s face turn to something more bittersweet.

→ but the more chances they get to interact, the more and more natsume begins to open up and find things to like about regal and mature post-war eichi. and so much for his big-mouthed senior, who tattles everything to eichi - now eichi thinks he has some kind of power over natsume. well, he’s not exactly wrong...

→ most people would, at the slightest mention of performing dark magic, would stray very, very far away from natsume. but eichi, for some godforsaken reason, is different; he fully embraces the unknown, and just talking about natsume’s interests has his eyes sparkling. they never get to carry any rituals out, but natsume only falls even deeper each time.

→ lovers or not, they still have their occasional spats, though occasional may be a stretch. natsume’s hot temper is still there, and coupled with eichi’s poised deadliness, they make a terrible opponents for a quarrel over literally anything. they fight mainly through words, and it takes days to, if ever, admit that they are in the wrong, but they always end up together.
