about a week later, the boy next door had settled in and officially moved into what is no longer f/nâs house. and your mom finally found the perfect recipe for the âwelcome to the neighborhoodâ cookies she was planning on giving them. your mom was big on making first impressions, she wanted the family to believe she was a sweet, caring, loving motherâeven though she had just cussed you out for almost knocking over the cookie pan. not only was she knocking on their door on an amazing sunday, she forced you and your dad to come along. which you both couldnât get your way out of.
she knocked on their front door, waiting for the door to be answered as she held her biggest, most welcoming smile. the mother opened the door as her eyes lit up at the sight of the soft chocolate chip cookies. you couldnât help but roll your eyes at your momâs phony act and how you were soon going to see a remodeled version of f/nâs house. you glued yourself down to your phone, texting f/n about how you were going to see the new neighbors.
âhi my name is m/n! iâm your neighbor from next door. this is my husband, d/n and my daughter, y/n.â your mom smiled while grabbing you by your arm, giving you a warning to get off your phone and have some manners.
you put your phone away into your back pocket and gave the lady a smile.
âaww, why thank you m/n! these cookies look wonderful, are they homemade?â your mom nods, knowing good and well that her âhomemadeâ cookies were actually just pre-made cookie dough from the nearest store.
âwell thank you, would you guys like to come in?â the lady asked, gesturing her head towards her living room.
if only you had a choice you wouldâve said no, yet your mom just had to say yes as your mom placed her hand on your back and slightly shoved you towards the door. nearly making you fall forward, you walked into the house and could already smell the aroma of f/n for some strange reason. there were still some unopened boxes that were scattered around the house yet it was pretty much put together. you thought you were over f/n moving, but being inside of the house was overwhelming you with nostalgia.
the lady had then called down her son downstairs to greet the three of you as she sat you and your family down on the couch. the boy dashed down the stairs and jumped over the couch in a blast of energy. now getting a good look at him, heâs even cuter in front of you instead of seeing him from afar. you guessed he was about two years older than you based on his strong physique, but he was actually the same age as you.
he was tall; looked about 5â10 1/2, had abs, veiny big hands, shit, even his muscles had muscles. he had golden short hair that was parted to the right with a black lightning-shaped streak on the left of his side fringe. once again he gave you that cute teethy smile while waving at you, you couldnât help but wave back with the same energy.
âthis is my son, and iâm narihana kaminari.â she introduced you guys to him, squeezing her sonâs shoulders.
âhi, Iâm y/n,â you blushed at the sight of seeing the boy manspread on the couch across from you.
your parents and his mom were talking non-stop about the neighborhood and the school systems. you managed to make eye contact with the boy a couple of times, yet still being zoned out. you were sunken into the couch with everything going in one ear and out the other. none of the conversations sounded truly important to you until you heard âthat treeâ come out of someoneâs mouth, snapping you out of your thoughts.
âyeah iâve seen that tree that connects to y/nâs and denkiâs room, a little weird. iâve thought to just maybe cut the tree or somethingââ
âcut the tree?â you looked around and questioned. âsorry miss but thatâs my tree, you canât come up into this place like itâs yours thinking youâre gonna cut down the tree!â
your parents looked at you like you were a madman. yet the mom only kept a smile on her face, âactually sweetie, i do own the house. brought it just last week.â she smiled.
you scoffed as you stood up and left the house. you ran back into your house, running up the stairs into your room. you already knew all hell was going to break loose once your parents got back into the house, but for once you didnât care. you curled up in your cover in frustration, a tear strolling down your cheek in anger. who did she think she was destroying your childhood tree house?
you were still drowning yourself in the horrid thought of your childhood tree house getting destroyed that you didnât even realize that someone was knocking on your window. your eyes shot over to your window, seeing the boy from next door tapping on your window.
you went over and opened your window, âhey, are you okay?â he asks, looking at the stained tear mark on your cheek.
âyeah, Iâm fine,â you swiftly wiped the tear off your cheek.
he looked at you with a smirk on his face. âthat was so bad ass what you said earlier.â he chuckled at you, leaning against your window frame.
your eyes widened, not expecting him to say that. âohâreally? sorry i didnât mean to yell at your mom like that. i hope sheâll forgive me.â you played with the sleeves of your shirt.
âtch, youâre good,â he shoved it off, âshe definitely didnât care. but can i ask, why do you like this tree so much?â
you were a little reluctant to tell him the reason since you thought he wouldnât understand but you decided to tell him. âmy childhood best friend, f/n lived exactly where you do now. weâve been in the same house since we were in kindergarten, and now that your mom is trying to chop it off, itâs not fair.â
he looked at you with understanding in his eyes. he smiled at you, âso thatâs the reason,â he ohâd himself, âi thought you had a weird obsession with trees or something.â he laughed.
you laughed as well, looking back up at him. âwell donât worry, iâll convince her to not chop down the tree since it matters to you that much.â he half-smiled, tracing his finger along the tree branch.
your eyes widened. âyou would!?â you gasped, âthank you so muchâuh,â
âyou can call me denki.â he smiled.
âoh yeah, you can call me y/n.â you smiled back at him.
âalright then, y/n,â he chuckled âiâll see you laterâ he climbed back over to his window.
you waved at him, âbye denki!â you shouted as you closed the window but kept your curtain open.

Today at 9:30 at night my brother and his girl friend (both skinny bitches) wanted to go to D & D tonight. I said I would come and when I got there I was able to resist getting anything fattening and instead I got an unsweetened iced tea. (They all got donuts and sugary coffee's).Â
I am so proud of myself. I was able to show some element of self restraint.
For breakfast I had black coffee with ice (no sugar or milk). For lunch I had a chicken wrap with caesar dressing on the side (only had about 1/3rd of it) and a strawberry and pomegranate with whey protein. And for dinner I had 2 slices of chicken cutlets with rice.Â
I feel good today. I hope I can continue resisting poor choices and begin to make better choices.Â
