The manga is complete at two volumes, though a special edition of volume 2, with extra stories, was released in 2020.

Summary (CMOA): "The story of Set and Osiris as children, the past and secrets of Thoth, the story of Horus as an adult, and what happens next. This is a special digital edition with a booklet containing four gorgeously drawn manga! Apophis, the nemesis who Set and his friends had once defeated, appears before Set. His goal was to kidnap Osiris to the underworld. Five years into the future, Set kills Osiris and realizes that it was Apophis who framed him, and this time he resolves to protect his brother with his own hands. The manga also has a sequel/spin-off focused more on Greek mythology called 落ちぶれゼウスと奴隷の子 | Ochibure Zeus to Dorei no Ko | Fallen Zeus and the Slave Boy, which is ongoing.

Summary (CMOA): "About 2500 years ago in ancient Greece. The omniscient and omnipotent god Zeus was so arrogant that his children Apollo, Athena, Ares, and Artemis sealed his soul in a human body. Zeus' soul was sealed in a human body for 1000 long years, reincarnated throughout the years. At that time, the soul was residing in an Egyptian slave boy named Ceto. When an incident put Ceto's life in danger, the 1000-year seal was broken, and Zeus' soul was finally released to the earth."

A number of the Egyptian characters from the previous series appear in the story (Set, Osiris, Anubis, Isis, Nephthys, Horus, Thoth), and have particular importance in volume 4.

There's also seemingly a spin-off series set in the same universe called The Great Yet Flawed God, which has more stories based on Greek mythology.

Volume 3 is set for release on 10 April 2026!

Saika no Kami wa Negawanai has been translated into Korean, but it has not been translated into English. It and its sequels/spin-offs are available in a few places digitally:

Ei Ohitsuji is active on twitter and pixiv, the latter of which is where she's posted a lot of extra art and stories for the series (though she also posts extra art on twitter). The series is josei, not boys love, though Ei Ohitsuji has written boys love in the past, and is a fan of ENNEAD, a BL manhwa about ancient Egypt focusing in particular on the story of Seth and the death of Osiris. Seven Seas has translated one of Ei Ohitsuji's works in the past, Though I Am an Inept Villainess, and they also have the physical English translation for ENNEAD, so it's always possible they might translate other works by this mangaka, particularly one along a similar line.

(Afaik), this manga is still pay-locked. You'd have to buy it from Amazon to read it (in Japanese). I can provide you with the artist's preview tho.

This manga, whilst it doesn't feature too closely, includes Ares x Hades content - which is the artist's personal ship. PLEASE do not proceed if you are uncomfortable with the concept. The last thing I need is another Japanese artist to get harassed over their fictional taste.

If you're fine with all the above, the manga I mentioned is 落ちぶれゼウスと奴隷の子 (Fallen Zeus and the Slave Child) - by 尾羊 英 Ei Ohitsuji.

The story follows Zeus, whose soul was sealed in the body of a slave child after being unthroned by his children, on his journey to find out the truth/ reclaim the throne. You can read it here (Pixiv Comic - part free, part locked), or buy the first volume here (Amazon.co.jp)

The part I talk about is mostly in chapter 7 (free atm). This is a part to give you a snippet of what you're getting yourself into:

(The blonde child if Apollo, the black-haired one is Ares. Zeus is the bright-haired adult. Zeus poured the nectar on the floor and tell Ares to lick it)

The manga above has Zeus as the protagonist. If you want to read more about Ares, you can try the mangaka's previous work, which focuses on Ares and his relationship with Hades: アレスくんとハーデス伯父さん (Aresu-kun to Hadesu-ojisan), which happens in the same universe afaik.
