how is that guy even real, mj?? like i’m used to fanfiction guys being so soft and dreamy but everything about him is unreal, it’s fucking unfair!!!!!!! UNFAIR!!

OK SO YOU KNOW I HAVE BUT

Honestly, hands down my now top favorite shark movie. As you know, I absolutely love those B-rated monster movies. They never fail to make me laugh even with their horrible CGI and horrendous acting. However, this. Oh my gosh Mj. This completely redefined my loveeeeeeee. 

It’s cast was amazing. You know that. I know that. We all know that. But I appreciated it so much because of how rare it is to see quality acting in a movie like this!!! Jason Statham has always been one of my most favorite actors so I already knew I was going to love it from that, but it rose above all my expectations. Everyone played their parts so soooo well and I didn’t expect myself to grow so attached to movie characters as much as I did??? It had the perfect mix of humor, romance, and action. I’m not the greatest fan of movies always having to include a love story in a movie, especially if the main focus is supposed to be on some killer creature, but this was absolutely perfect. I loved Suyin and Jonas since their first moment together. I’ve never been so invested in a movie’s characters and their relationship (other than movie series) so it really took me by surprise?? I didn’t think I would fall so in love with them yET HERE WE ARE. Meiying was an icon from start to finish who reminded me of Madi so much in terms of getting her mom and Jonas together. 

THE ACTUAL PLOT WAS GREAT TOO!!

I know there are only so many directions you can go with a film like this but I genuinely loved every aspect of it, even the lame shark graphics. It was all so perfect.

NOT TO MENTION THEY DID NOT KILL THE DOG!!!!!!! BEST PART OF THE MOVIEEEEEE.

“You do realize that whole ‘flaming head’ vibe you’ve got going on is like, the least subtle thing ever, right?” Daisy asks as they duck into the car. 

“I don’t do subtle,” Robbie answers. The engine revs and they’re off, the sleek black getaway car becoming a bullet in the night.

“We’re... literally spies,” Daisy says. “Subtlety is supposed to be our specialty.”

“You’re confusing secrecy and subtlety,” Robbie says, jerking the wheel suddenly to send them flying down a back street, where they hopefully won’t be followed.

“Yeah?” Daisy asks, searching for more information.

“When people are looking at the flaming head, are they looking anywhere else?”

Daisy flushes, not wanting to admit where else she had been looking. The fire from the flaming head had also burned Robbie’s suit to shreds, and he’s attractive, okay?

“So you’re the diversion, and I’m the stinger,” Daisy says.

“Sure, something like that.”

“Generally, when you have a partner, you tell them these things before you start the mission, not after, you know,” she tells him, rolling her eyes.

“We’re not partners,” Robbie argues. “It’s one mission.”

“One mission that we completed successfully, which basically guarantees we’ll be put together again,” Daisy points out.

“Not a success yet,” Robbie grunts. They’re still ten minutes out from their extraction point, and there had been some rather angry people on their tail. Robbie’s driving seems to have shaken most of them, though.

“Well, when it is a success, maybe you can teach me a few of your tricks.” Daisy smiles teasingly at him.

“Don’t count on it, chica,” Robbie replies.

He’s smiling, though. 

They’re going to be the most kickass partners ever.

But you do find aforest, trees everywhere around you, tall and daunting, but beautiful. Thencome the butterflies that glow. If you walk back down to the coast, Luna willbe able to spot you so long as you throw the sprig in the fire, so you giveyourself this time in the forest. You can go back to sea whenever you want. Youmust wander through the trees for hours before you’re interrupted by a boy, aboutyour age, maybe a bit younger. He asks if you’re hungry and when you nod, hetakes you to a nearby village, the trading post you should’ve been at hoursearlier, you realize. Your clan members are nowhere to be seen. You expect theboy to sell you something, but he doesn’t. Instead, he fabricates to the vendors,he pleads, tells them you’re his sick sister and you both need food to live. It’soutlandish and yet, the people fall into his words, give him food that he thenshares with you. You snipe at him the first chance you get, tell him howimmoral what he’s done is, but he doesn’t seem bothered. He tells you that you’rea good teammate, and offers to travel with you. You should go back to the rig.You don’t. And that’s how you get a brother. You travel everywhere together,through Trikru, Sangedakru, Trishanakru, and Podakru territory, wherever yourlegs will take you. They take you to Polis, eventually, when the world isending. Neither of you have a clan to fight for you, you’ve been nomadic toolong, but then Luna is striding in, saying she’s the last of her clan and shefights for a death. That’s how you learn your clan is gone, as is everyone youonce knew. But Luna is wrong. She is not the last of her clan; you are righthere. Nothing is keeping you in Polis once the Conclave starts, and the bunkeris one thing you know you and your brother can’t weasel into. So, you go backand see the sights all over again, at least the ones you have time for. Yourfavorite forests, the first lake you ever swam in, and of course, thebutterflies. Until time runs out.
