I honestly prefer Stella to look absolutely nothing alike to Stolas cause birds have such unique face shapes and it's really sadden me that their designs are so one note
When it comes to the relationship. Stella, even though she despises Stolas, she still tries, to keep the family image, to keep her daughter happy despite the rumors of affairs going around
Omg I have so many ideas for Via and the drama of double affairs is so juicy I couldn't avoid adding the hint.
This gonna get technical a bit
Stolas in the writing was said to show himself to mortal as a Raven but we also have the owl drawing that everyone knows him by. But Stella is also part peacock, soooooo
I thought it'd be fun to design Via two ways
Ver 1_ is alluding to her father Raven/Crow side but more special is that she is an albino Crow.
Making Via vulnerable in the way she looks nothing like her dad, cause she doesn't know he's also somewhat, a Raven.
Her being albino can make her become much closer to her uncle as well cause Andraelphus is also albino. *rubs hands together maliciously* 😈
Ver 2_ is more of a stylized choice cause I was looking through pictures of birds for reference and I saw pics of Lady Amherst's pheasants and thought that because they have the same color palette as peacock it gives me some leeway for this design:))
Plus that white feathers have potential for an emo bang, covering her lower sets of eyes
Either way these two designs for Octavia accomplished the same thing. Isolating Via by her own images and making Stella look bad to the public and also the final nail in the coffin for this family when Stolas actually cheats on his wife.
