I'm going to sound like my dad here, but there are lots of cheaper alternatives that run on Android, like Lenovo ones. Depends on budget.
You are right, but then I'll have to investigate the other options, because I don't know much about those. I have several friends with iPads, and they seem to be very happy with it. But that doesn't mean alternatives can't be just as good!
