I’ve started to pare down my backlog by going through Steam games that don’t have achievements. There are a lot of games that DON’T have achievements that I really enjoy playing - Kerbal Space Program, FTL, Don’t Starve, etc. However, I do like playing games with achievements so here are a few games I cut last weekend.
Eets - This game isn’t on the store anymore. I remember getting a free steam key for it but I don’t remember how. I think it was through an app. Anyways, I had difficulty trying to start the game but it worked fine once I set it the game compatibility to Windows XP SP 3. It’s a pretty typical puzzle game but there’s a ton of games like this.
Ghost Master - This game is really well reviewed so I’m surprised I didn’t like it much. The tutorial is much too long and once I started playing the game I just wasn’t having as much fun as I was hoping. This game is pretty old and the interface hasn’t aged well.
Deja Vu: MacVenture Series - This game is way too old-school for me. I don’t mind a game that looks old-school or classic but this is too much. I think I got this game free from somewhere.
The Yahwg - This game was not what I expected. I finished my first playthrough in nine minutes! It’s kind of like a board game in which there are several rounds and you perform an action on each. Then the Yahwg comes and you see how well you did.
Trauma - I’m only taking this game off the backlog because I managed to finish in about an hour. I played through the main ending, got most of the alternative endings in each chapter but don’t want to spend more time trying for 100% completion. It’s a simple point and click game and there’s not much to it but I enjoyed the experience.
There’s also a bunch of other games I put on my “Maybe” list - games that I kind of enjoyed and want to go back to playing but not that badly. I may write about them later if I finish them.
I also put a bunch of other games on my “Definitely Finish” list - games that I really enjoyed want to finish. Hopefully I will!
