between-songs transcript (los angeles night 2, july 27th 2025)
this one was fun. yapatron 3000. under the cut π
(after dead!)
[Gerard]: Los Angeles, California, Madrid! We are pleased to announce that we, The Black Parade, are back in action. Fresh out the MOAT, courtesy of The Ministry of Complementary... reprogramming? Reconditioning. Reconditioning, I think that's what it was. Brought to you especially by our beloved His Grand Immortal Dictator, please. Please, give him a big United States welcomings. Such a handsome man, has never looked better. Blow him a kiss, perhaps. Mwah! One, two, three. We are backed here by the National Draag Auxiliary Band, thank you so much for coming out tonight. Shall we carry on? Let's. Brothers and sisters! Once more. Into the breach, my friends. Are you ready?!
(before wttbp to the clerk for bringing out the podium)
[Gerard]: Thanks, buddy.
(before i don't love you) (dodger dogs & elexecution)
[Gerard]: Good news, America! The Black Parade is the official spokesman of the world-famous Dodger Dogs! They loved what we did so much last night, that they asked if they could sponsor us, and we said O-KAY! One of our jobs is to pass out these dogs to everybody. Here you go! And here's a vegan one! And why aren't you guys throwin' 'em? Let's go! Now, our Grand Immortal Dictator had his first hot dog last night. But I don't think he had ketchup or mustard. I do not know this. And so, what do you think? Grand Immortal Dictator, I see tonight you've got a very large hot dog. I see some ketchup, I see some mustard. Okay. So. We're gonna vote on condiments tonight. Are you ready? Are you ready?! You got a sign, hold 'em up, when you came in you got a sign. We're looking for some, uh, see a lot of red, looking for some uh, individuals... that's beautiful. Some say that last night there was an execution. This will be kind of similar, right. The other side is black, it says nay. Yes. Okay. Well. We're gonna vote. Does The Grand Immortal Dictator get ketchup or mustard? Now, here's the catch. One of these condiments is gonna end the lives of these prisoners. Not now, my friend. Alright. Now. All those in favour, of ketchup on the hot dog, let me see the yea! That's a lot of ketchup. Now, keep your ketchup signs up. All those in favour of mustard... let me see the black and red side. Woo! Hmm... I think... mustard it is. Yeah... it's mustard. Can we hook our Grand Immortal Dictator up with some mustard, please? Now that that's sorted out, roll! Ready! Aim! FIRE! I prefer ketchup, just saying.
To a gorgeous night! (in response to audience flashlights) Pink! Beautiful!
B STAGE
(before helena)
[Gerard]: Make some noise for Clarice Jensen. Thank you so much, Clarice. It's beautiful. It's beautiful every day. Make some noise for the other members of the National Draag Auxiliary Band. It's very hard to say, the full name, it's very complicated; that's Kayleigh Goldsworthy, Tucker Rule, we're very lucky to have them. Please make some noise for Wallows. They were with us the last two nights. We're My Chemical Romance from New Jersey.
(before nanana)
[Gerard]: Fuck yeah, thank you, LA. Alright, we're gonna have a good time the rest of this night. [laughs] We were having a good time before, that was aβ a different kind of good time, right? I think so. That's a good time, this is a good time... we're all a good time! We got, uh, we got a bunch of songs for you tonight, I'd say there's a bunch. This is, um, oh yeah this is number two summer jam of all time, and, uh, arguably number one to some people, but I'd say it's number two. Are you fuckin' ready? Huh? Let's go, America!
(before the ghost of you)
[Gerard]: Hell yeah. Thank you guys so much. So, um, Ray and I didn't actually plan this. Um, back in the day, we're both wearing this shirtβand it's also not to sell t-shirts but back in the day we'd wear our own shirts, like when we were really small, and we'd get a lot of shit for it; Frank reminded me of this story of when were were in Grog Shop or something?
[Frank]: Grog Shop in Cleveland.
[Gerard]: There were some guys making fun of me and he tried to fight 'em. I was wearing this shirt. But weβwe used to do it 'cause, we went and, uh, Ray and Mikey and I went and saw Iron Maiden, one of our favourite bands, and one of the coolest parts of Iron Maiden, at least to us, we would look at 'em and we'd say: 'man, these guys are wearing their own fucking shirts. They're their own favourite band.' So, I guess we're our own favourite band. This used to be, uhβthis used to be, um, a picture of James Dean, but we didn't wanna get sued so now it's Mikey Way. Handsome Mikey Way. Alright, we're gonna play something off Revenge. You might wanna light it up for this, I think it's that kinda song, we're, you know, we're gonna chillβ (weird voice) chill out. We're gonna chill out.
(before im not okay)
[Gerard]: Hell yeah! [laughs] Thank you so much. Um, weβwe don't ever try to repeat the thing every day, I mean, sometimes, well over there we play the same songs every night, but over here we change it up. But, um, this is our first stadium tour, so we wanna thank you all very much for being here. It's kinda unbelieveable, thank you so much. It's very special to us, and, uh, there was a time where we didn't know if we were gonna ever do it again, and we decided to do it again, and we're very happy we did, so thank you. Oh, it's the number one summer jam of all time! That's what's happenin' now! Are you ready?!
(before cemetery drive)
[Gerard]: Thank you so much. Got another Revenge song. Alright, let's do it. Are you gonna drink some coconut water? Yeah, man, just gotta stay hydrated. Just gotta stay fuckin' hydrated. Good news, water's free. Heh. Kinda. Alright, kinda. (weird voice) Gotta do it. It sounds good. Hands up!
(before foundations)
[Gerard]: Thank you, guys. We're having a great time, thank you guys so much. So, uh, when we got back together, um, like, there was this, like, little momentβwell, this was after the band, we got back together and then we sat home for two years, but, but, um, when we were finally like 'alright, let's go, let's do it, let's do it', um, like, there was a song that materialized out of that, and, um, I really wanna take the opportunity toβto thank two people, that's Jarrod Alexander, who's been with us so very long, we love you so much Jarrod. And Jamie fucking Muhoberac, thank you so much. They've played on a bunch of stuff, and Jarrod played on this one with us, um, the new one we played last night, uh, he played that one in the studio with us too, so, he's been a very patient fucking man. We love these guys. So. And this is, uh, this song's called 'Foundations of Decay'. This is the first time we've played it on this tour. I'd love to hear you sing it.
(before scarecrow)
[Gerard]: Thank you Smashing Pumpkins. And thank you Smashing Pumpkins fans. This is one we haven't played yet. It's another, like, hand-up-and-down thing. I like 'em, I dunno. It's just the way God made 'em, y'know? Transmit. It's transmitting rockin' tunes, y'know? Well, we gotta ready, you might as well get 'em up ahead of time. 'Cause when the storm blows in, it's gonna knock the scarecrow right over.
(before prison)
[Gerard]: Thank you LA, thank you so much. This is gonna go down on yer permanent record.
(before kids)
[Gerard]: Thank you LA, Thank you so much. This is a fucking blast. Fuck, man. We're really lucky, thank you. Hell yeah. Alright, we got one more for you. It's kind of a sick (something) vibe. Super fucking awesome. It's called, uh, 'Kids From Yesterday'.
Reposting this because holidays are approaching and this one reminds me of cozy December mornings
i will be getting back into drawing more aftg content soon after getting one last gravity falls and arcane animatic out of my system <33

idk if youβd be interested in this/if it counts as little fic but I think a gp+max ficlet where max is only a bit regressed (like late teens ish, like he was as a rookie?) could be quite cute, gp being reminded of what it was like when max was all green and shy, him chatting away about his sim and gaming and stuff. sfw though! sorry if that isnβt really what youβre looking for
eeeeee I love this!!!
"Morning mate," GP greets Max when he walks through the door to the briefing room, "d'ya get a good nights kip?"
Max stumbles over the strip of tape pinning the cables to the floor and goes pink in the face, avoiding GP's eyes. He swallows then glances up at him like he's expecting GP to be laughing at him, but he instead nudges the chair away from the table and jerks his chin towards it.
"I slept okay," Max says quietly, and then overly politely asks, "and did you- you sleep okay?"
"Mmhmm," GP smiles, feeling his brow furrowing, "y'alright?"
"Just- um, yes, I'm of course fine,"
"Not staying up late racing again?"
GP's question was a tease, a callback to the press swarm the weekend before when Max was up all night racing and still went and put their car on pole. Max doesn't seem to take it that way though, indignant and blushy, like when he first met GP.
"I of course would not jeopardise a race," Max insists, "and- and I am a grown up now so I get to-"
"It's okay bud," he tries to soothe him, "I was teasing, it's okay,"
Biting his lip, Max stares at the table, eyes watering a little bit. GP glances at Hannah, the only other person in the room so far, blessedly far from them; he shuffles his own chair closer to Max's and asks, "s'it like last time?"
"Just- just a little bit-"
"That's okay, alright," he rubs his palm between Max's shoulders, "do you remember what we did last time?"
"Remember I'm safe and good and the team want me here," Max whispers, "and- and you'll make sure I'm safe,"
"That's right," GP nods, using the voice he mostly saves for when his daughter has had nightmares, "you're safe, and good, and we want you here. I'll make sure you're away from cameras and the press don't ask you questions,"
"Thank you GP,"
He smiles softly. When Max is like this his name sounds like Jeepy, and it always makes him feel fond.
"No problem Max, I'm here for you, yeah? I've got you,"
