THE BEGINNING (Edworthy Park) by Deborah Robinson, www.deborah-robinson.com
Scene from the north side of the river near the bridge, a popular gathering spot in Calgary. I painted this for a couple who wanted a painting of this scene, as he asked her to marry him, here in this spot.

On Labour Day Monday, Craig and I went on a bike ride to Edworthy Park, relaxed, knitted, read, and enjoyed the sunshine.Â
We also put our lock on the bridge (similar to the love lock one in Paris!) and threw the keys in the water so the lock will be there forever :)Â

CHAMBERD OR EDWORTHYS
Saturday, October 1, 2011
After work, I went to yet another bonfire at Edworthy Park. And yet again, it was smaller than the previous ones. At around 11:00, we noticed that a helicopter kept circling above us and we realized that it was probably the police. This thought was enforced by some sirens heard in the distance (sirens ended up being unrelated). Some drunk guy yelled "THE COPS ARE COMING!" all of a sudden, so we all bolted into the trees and got out of there. Quite exhilarating. Anyways, this picture happened after I left. The black guy was so drunk that he passed out and those other guys carried him out. Apparently they left him in a shopping cart outside the guy on the left's apartment. :/ He was definitely hilarious to watch from my sober eyes. While he was awake, anyways.
