Happy Birthday to former film director, producer and Desilu production coordinator, Ed Sedgwick (1889-1953). Introduced to Lucille by her former beau, Alexander Hall in the 1930’s, Ed became a lifelong friend and mentor to Lucille. Ed and his wife Ebba were also godparents to the Arnaz children. In Ed’s 1953 obituary, the Los Angels Times wrote about his first meeting with Lucille, quoting his own words: “I saw this beautiful girl walking around the Goldwyn lot. She was one of the Goldwyn Girls. I’d see her tell a story and watch her facial expressions change. She’d illustrate it with everything she had.
