Edoras, in the valley of the White Mountains
I've been wanting to practice more with environments-- I find the whole 'mountains' aspect of Rohan is overshadowed sometimes, but as someone who lives in the mountains, it holds a place in my heart.
Happy birthday to me 🎂 The 29th of September also happens to be the national Coffee Day here in Sweden, so I wanted to share one of my favourite coffee paintings
It took absolutely forever to make, and I spent endless time on Éowyn's hair and dress, but I loved the outcome.
'Before them stood the mountains of the South: white-tipped and streaked with black. The grasslands rolled against the hills that clustered at their feet and flowed into many valleys, untouched by light of dawn. [...] They glimpsed a tumbled mountain mass with one tall peak at the mouth of the vale like a sentinel on a lonely height. Upon its brow they caught still far away a glint in the rising sun, a glimmer of gold. 'Edoras those courts are called,' said Gandalf, 'and Meduseld is that golden hall.' -- The Two Towers. chapter VI: 'The King of the Golden Hall.'

Could I request Éowyn just losing it in a storm? I was so inspired by Storm Éowyn when it came through the UK and I was shocked that there wasn't an influx of Éowyn and storm art.

For you, anything. <3 Here's Storm Éowyn
This was done in Procreate with digital watercolor. The pose is very heavily referenced from Henry Justice Ford's "Snow Maiden" (1894).
The Horn of Rohan
“Where is the horse? Where is the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
[...] They have passed like rain on the mountain, like wind the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills in the shadow. “
“Lament of the Rohirrim“, Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers, Book III chapter 6 The King of the Golden Hall, J.R.R. Tolkien
