#editor stuff

i love people sharing the random and obscure shit they had to research for their own writing, and I need you guys to know that, as an editor, i sometimes feel like I'm experiencing shrimp levels of this. today i had to look up how much the average adult goat weighs (40–50kg). one time i went down a rabbit hole on a museum website looking at all their plate armour for so long i realised i could not in good conscience count the time as core editorial experience. whenever someone goes "oh, you mean you do like spell-checking and grammar and stuff?" I'm like yeah, sure. and also learning a staggering array of general knowledge and trivia that will usually only be relevant to one (1) line that your client may decide to cut or rewrite anyway.
