Hi hi!!! Todayâs prompt is funniest OC, and I HAD to go with Edith. This girl is trying to make amends on behalf of not only her crew but every pirate crew by attending the academy and trying to do good by these nobles, while simultaneously just insulting everyone and doing very stereotypical pirate-y things. She knows sheâs fucking hilarious. I love her so muchÂ
hello!!!! i made an executive decision that my mental health was more important than finishing a homework assignment that i donât have to have done until wednesday, so i did an extremely messy doodle of black eagles pirate friend, whose name iâve decided is edith armbrust!Â
some bonus info about her before i do the Long Thingieâ˘:Â
she actually is a pirate, lol. like she grew up on the water and has been plundering since she was old enough to hold a weapon. her parents were both pirates, so she was just along for the ride.Â
she joined the monastery because she wants to do good and become a knight, but she still has pretty vulgar tendencies. definitely sneaks off to do some underage drinking and gambling sometimes.Â
this girl HATES nobles. oh my goodness she cannot stand ferdinand. she likes teasing people a lot.Â
iâm tired so i canât really think of much alksdgkd but here she is!!!! more info to come :DÂ
alskdjgkd here i am again!!! iâm thinking just for my own convenience and for yâall if you want to avoid see just the info sheets iâll make a separate tag for these. anyway hereâs edith, everythingâs under the cut! <3Â

Background Info:
Edith comes from a crew of pirates who sail Adrestian seas. She spent most of her childhood on the water surrounded by her parentsâ crew.Â
Her mother and father are close to the captain. She was conceived by chance, but the entire crew worked to raise her lovingly, which must have been very chaotic and very fun.Â
Her crew is more of a Robin Hood-type situation, only stealing from nobles and giving back to the poor. She grew up disliking nobles generally speaking, but she also grew up disliking the kind of pirates who steal from literally everyone.Â
She learned to wield a sword as soon as she was old enough to hold one, and was joining real fights once she reached around ten.Â
Edith was inspired to enroll at Garreg Mach when she happened upon a group of Church knights, who saved her life from an attack by bandits.Â
Since then she has aspired to become a knight or mercenary and travel all over FĂłdlan helping people. Although treasure is also nice.Â
Personality:
Fiery and without a filter. Spending time with rowdy pirates her whole life has made her a very thick-skinned person, but unfortunately she tends to assume the same about everyone around her, at least at first.Â
Likes to laugh and make others laugh. Great at telling stories and talking to people in general!Â
Tends to say whatâs on her mind whenever itâs on her mind, which can be offensive to much of the noble company she spends time around at the monastery, but also makes her very trustworthy. You can count on her not to lie, like, ever. She doesnât see the use in it.Â
Doesnât like being talked down to. Being good at talking to people and also feisty by nature makes her great at confrontations. She Will Cut A Bitch.Â
Despite having absolutely no tact, she can tell if sheâs being too loud and can tone it down if she needs to. Still has a very fiery and outgoing personality, but just not as loud.Â
Also keeps some of the activities she used to do with her crew. Definitely goes out drinking way more than she should, and gambles a lot too.Â
Actually pretty good at teaching! Sheâs surprisingly patient for someone as bombastic and fast-moving as she is. Great with little kids.Â
itâs babyâs first fic!!!! or at least first posted fic. iâve written like.. tiny little things and then deleted them before, aksdjg. iâm scared of all my writer friends here, but i figured this is for fun so why not. anyway i donât have a title for this or anything so enjoy!!!!Â

Edith woke up and immediately regretted doing so.Â
If the fact that her head felt like someone had taken a war hammer to it wasnât enough to keep her in bed, the nausea most definitely was. She groaned softly and weakly raised an arm, letting her hand fall haphazardly over her eyes. White spots danced across her vision all the same.Â
What a way to spend a morning, she thought bitterly as she tried to recall literally anything about her life.Â
As her head cleared, Edith could hear the sounds of early risers training in the courtyard through her open window. She was thankful that she had been careless for once. The crisp, cool early-morning air of a Wyvern moon morning filtered in and cooled her throbbing head. At least she hadnât slept in long enough for someone to come barreling in and make her migraine worse.Â
Time passed, and events came back to her. Stealing off to a tavern late at night... a couple of burly men... a drinking competition. Cheers. Laughter. Empty kegs. Shanties that her parents taught her when she was small.Â
Edith smirked to herself, despite the fact that moving her lips made her temples audibly throb. She knew herself well enough to know she probably drank most of those men under the table. At a price, of course. She'd been hung over before, but never like this. Lady Edelgard would be beside herself if she knew.Â
As soon as the nausea faded away enough, Edith grunted softly and forced herself to sit up, setting her head spinning and bringing bitter-tasting bile to the back of her throat. She wrinkled up her nose and sat back on her hands for as long as it took for the room to be level again. She thought she felt herself shaking, though that might have just been her dizziness as well. How much time had past? Wouldnât she like to know.Â
Edith didnât bother tying up her hair, and merely threw a jacket over her shoulders and pulled pants on. She was sure by the way they awkwardly stretched across her waist that they were backwards, but she couldnât be bothered to take them off and put them on again. Every time she bent her head down the world spun on that angle.Â
She stared at the door as if it had said an insult against her mother, silver hair spilling in tangled clumps over her shoulders. She had to open it and walk somewhere. She couldnât just lie down and magically warp. Edith groaned softly to herself and let her head tip back in exasperation. Which was a terrible idea.Â
There was no question about where she was headed. The question was, however, would she actually get there?Â
--
Thankfully the monastery halls were not entirely crowded, though Edith could tell she was getting some funny looks from the noble students. She smirked bitterly to herself every time, hobbling on stiff legs toward the infirmary. Every step made her head throb.Â
She finally made it to the infirmary doors after what had felt like an eternity. Edith didnât mind the public humiliation of shuffling with her pants on backwards in front of dozens of her classmates, but the headache was just insulting. She rested her hand on the doorknob and immediately felt the impulse to rest her head against it. Cool, smooth metal was a blessing amid all the curses of this morning. But she put that aside, telling herself that it was just short-term. Medicine would last longer, work better. Maybe sheâd headbutt the doorknob on the way back out.Â
Edithâs fingers slipped a little on the metal as she struggled to get the door open, and peered in after much too long. Professor Manuela sat at her desk, nonchalantly going over some paperwork. A couple of light brown strands rested on her forehead, and noticeable circles rested under her eyes. Edith frowned. It couldnât be.Â
The professor didnât give her much time to think before looking up and assuming a knowing smile. âWell, look who just rolled out of bed,â she remarked, which drew a bitter snort from Edith. Manuelaâs smile became playful as she rose from her seat and gestured to one of the beds. âCome and tell me whatâs wrong. Edith Armbrust, yes?âÂ
Edith pouted out her bottom lip. In her mind she responded, âYes, my name is Edith Armbrust of the Adrestian seas, and Iâm here because I woke up with the most dreadful of headaches, so I would like a draught and some rest to treat it.â But that translated as a barely-coherent mumble that resembled the word âYeahâ and a zombie-like shamble to collapse face-first on the bed. She could hear Manuela chuckle lightly and the sound of small glass vials clinking against each other. That sound was music to her too-hot, throbbing ears.Â
Before she knew it, Manuela had turned her onto her back, and she was looking up at her up closer. She could see in more detail how disheveled she looked, now. The eye bags were deeper than sheâd thought. Her complexion was a little paler than usual. A cowlick had formed in her hair, and more of that hair was plastered to her forehead than Edith had first realized.Â
She broke into a wide grin. Two could play at this game, she supposed.Â
Manuela raised an eyebrow suspiciously, which drew a lazy giggle from Edith that she couldnât have kept in if she tried. Perhaps it was the delirium from the headache, or perhaps the alcohol hadnât quite worn down yet even now, but this was the funniest thing she could imagine. She almost missed Manuelaâs inquiry, âSo, how can I help you?âÂ
The professor threw up her eyebrows disbelievingly, and Edith burst into laughter. For once in her life she didnât mind the stereotypes people had about pirates, because the fact that Manuela most likely knew the cause of her headache was hysterical to her.Â
Manuela pursed her lips and hummed lightly, turning to her vials. Edith watched with wonder as she pushed aside most of the vials to fetch a slightly larger one made of blue-stained glass. She poured some of the contents of it into a cup of hot water along with some tea leaves, and after it had all set she set the blue bottle back into its hiding place.Â
She set the cup in front of Edith with a small sigh. âKeep this between us, okay?â she murmured knowingly, with a strained smile. Edith watched her face carefully. It was clear that she would probably get in trouble if anyone knew she had this sort of life. Perhaps this happened often.Â
And Edith, ever the tender soul, burst out laughing again.Â

@omgkalyppsoâ did this meme with their ocs and inspired me to do it with mine during class askdjgks; this was fun!!! i put laure in as well because sheâs part of the club now :) iâll write in more detail about her later today probably, after my classes.Â
helene would get all flustered, and probably would try to give the flowers to hilda and pass it off as "oh they weren't really meant for me." partially because she's afraid of falling in love, and partially because she doesn't want to have another person she could possibly let down by slacking off. an admirer means someone who respects her, and she's terrified of losing that respect. so hilda just gets a bouquet that she probably lets die by accident.
edith is... confused. flattered and curious, but confused as to why anyone would give her flowers privately. why not just confess up front? she'd put the flowers aside in a vase or something and then go on a little investigation to find out who the hell could have gotten her a gift, and why the gift wasn't money instead.
(send me an oc and i'll say how they'd react to getting flowers from a secret admirer :D)
