if Dickinsonias existed today, which would be pretty surprising considering the ocean’s conditions for sustaining life is quite different from how it was in the Proterozoic Eon (2.5 GA — 539 MA ago), i would love to see one in a touch pool. in fact, let me pick that thing up and hug it! it didn’t have gills, surely it wouldn’t die if exposed to air for a little bit. i mean they’re just so cute, id love to see one irl. i’d give it “head” pats and pet it like a kitty. so cutes. i would give him a little kiss
Dickinsonia for reference: (all pictures are scientific artistic reconstructions based on fossilized imprints)
Dickinsonia in his natural habitat surrounded by his Ediacaran friends (they’re having a game night and the Charnias are winning)
Our prey response evolved because of worms. My anxiety won't like me catch a bus because worm scare bad.
EDIACARAN FAUNA SCULPTURES
A series of sculptures celebrating three enigmatic organisms of the Ediacaran Period, thought to be some of Earth’s earliest macroscopic animals. Not meant to be taken as an accurate paleontological render! from L to R: Dickinsona, Charnia, Kimberella.

A sculpted rendition of Dickinsona, an enigmatic organism who lived in the Ediacaran period. It is the oldest undisputed animal fossil (~558 Ma) and probably lived in warm, shallow marine environments where it fed on microbial mats.
This will be painted & displayed alongside three other Ediacaran marvels at my upcoming art show!
⚠️ Please note that this is not meant to be depicted as an accurate paleontological render, as some details may be adjusted or simplified to accommodate the FDM 3D printing process.
