Eda Durust
When searching on instagram for further explanation and inspiration relative to my topics, i came across a turkish artist called Eda Durust. Although there is not much information about her on the internet, i have realised that she was a illustrator, and had some quirky illustrations that were really cool, and my opinion rather surrealistic. But I also searched into her photography, where i found some of her still life work which was very relative my concept. The whole tongue and cheek concept of juxtaposition within objects and labels is a route i want to explore. I love how she has combined designer logos and objects to look fitting but expose another layer. Appearing contrasting and fitting the concept is funny and has the ability to be perceived in many ways. I read it as a humourous response to the high society associated with designer labels. Something i want to mirror in my work.
