Social media in my life
MySpace was the first form of social media that I ever used. I loved the customization of the pages with different backgrounds, music, and layouts. It was always fun and interesting to see where your friends had your ranked on their friend list.
Twitter was the second social media platform in my life, and I still use my original personal account until this day (you can check out my professional Twitter @ https://twitter.com/erikcichonmedia). I love the spread of information and seeing what is trending in different parts of the world. To me, that is truly amazing.
On my personal Twitter, I mostly use it to follow beat reporters for my favorite sports teams and developers of my favorite games. By following these people, I am always informed ahead of other media outlets and I know information before most of the people I talk to.
It’s really cool how social media has so many uses. It’s not all about making money and expanding businesses, and it’s not all about following your favorite athletes and actors. It’s a mix of both, and the more you understand what makes it work, the more effective you can be with it.
