Madame Monarch the I. eclosed early this morning, and it was the most beautiful thing to see. After she had dried for a couple of hours, she seemed ready to leave, so I opened the enclosure, and she took off. It may have been a tad early, she landed on the lawn. But after a quick lift, she was off into the world. This has been utterly satisfying, and I am excited to see it again. (Enclosure footage was lifted from the Wyze cam.)

So, this just happened! This is a monarch that I brought in from one of my milkweed plants when it was a small caterpillar & 'raised'. After it went to chrysalis stage I taped the stick it was hanging from to a zinnia plant I have in a pot on my deck. When I checked on it this morning I realized it was just about ready to eclose. I ran inside for my cell phone and made it back just in time to catch it emerging.
