26) Is there anything you can change about your skills as a roleplayer?
Probably? I'd always like to get better! I used to be kind of down on myself thinking that I used to be a better writer and that I got worse over time, but I think I just had more energy and more free time back then. These days, I'm pretty happy with where I'm at, and I hope the people who write with me are too. That said, I think I could get better at describing sensory stuff. My writing style, I think, leans heavily on like, dialogue, emotional/internal stuff, and the direct movements and motions of my character (the wrinkling of the nose, the hesitant outstretch of a hand, etc.) but not so much on painting a picture of a scene.
Fun fact, this also applies to my D&D DMing. I can get deep in it when it comes to RPing an NPC or describing their emotional state or motivations on an insight check, and then one of my players is like "hey Bryn what's up with this chair?" and I'm just like "*uncomfortable 'stalling for time' noises* uh, it's... it's a chair."
27) What songs do you listen to when wanting to get into the mood of roleplaying?
(also asked by @eckerien thank you!)
Oh my gosh, actually so many, and it depends on my mood, the character, and what kind of thread I'm doing? Sometimes it's lo-fi, sometimes it's jazz, sometimes it's anime or video game music, sometimes it's just a full listen of some of my favorite albums (Rumours, Station To Station/Low, Disintegration, Bury Me At Makeout Creek/Puberty 2/Be The Cowboy probably some of the more common ones off the top of my head?).
I also have specific little songs for some characters that are just kind of like an easy start to get into the mood for a character. For Lilli, it's things like Forgiveness and Soak. For Niko, it's stuff like Bubblegum Bitch and Cherry. I also listen to a lot of Fire Emblem and Nier music in general when writing for either of them.
And then sometimes I listen to "Berserk - Forces (1hour / Seamless ver.)" at 2am while doing replies because I've lost control of my life.
28) Ever had a falling out with a partner?
I think if you RP long enough it's probably inevitable? I've been at this for like 15 years, so yeah. Occasionally for reasons that were my fault, occasionally for reasons that were their fault, and often for reasons that were both of our faults. It's a big part of why I try (with mixed success) to do more communication these days. The last thing I want is for a problem to fester on either side because someone feels uncomfortable talking about it, until it blows up and destroys a friendship.
