Vulâs feathers puffed down and he took a deep breath. âGuess itâs just cabin fever. I can handle it in the ship, but when Iâm on dry land⌠itâs a touch different.â
He shrugged and leaned back in his chair. âNot opposed to a Sunday stroll, but canât imagine itâll stay nice enough to keep the umbrellas from snapping inside out. Skyâs black as ink over the horizon.â
âIt is rather windy, is it not?â
She would be afraid of the same thing. Of the wind turning the umbrella inside out. Then she would get soaked in this heavy storm, and she certainly didnât want that to happen. What she wore was heavy enough as it was, she didnât need her dress to get soaked with a bunch of rain water.
âPerhaps there is something interesting to be done indoors. The first thing that comes to mind is baking something, like a pie. It is something that does not require the outdoors at all, so long as you have the ingredients to work with already.â
Which she did, of course. Her refrigerator was always stocked full. She made sure to keep it that way, in case she met any hungry travelers that wanted something to eat.
âUnless you want to risk going outside and losing our umbrellas.â
