Sometime last year, Claudio hit me up and wanted to come by the studio to run the piano he recorded for this track through some of my gear. I was honored to indulge OF COURSE…and after 4+ hours and numerous prints through several pedals, Re-amping through @mattoverse #echoamp, retracking to a #marantzpmd430, listening through rough mixes of his full EP, and pondering the meaning of life…we landed on several sounds he was happy with. Link in Bio! More of a journey than a traditional song, this is what I imagine it might feel like to take a ride through the clouds. This “song” from its inception was incredibly difficult for me to complete. When I first stumbled upon the piano ostinato, I was immediately addicted to playing it whenever I sat down at the piano, yet I was never quite able to wrangle the idea in it’s entirety. In fact, it wasn’t until my friend and the extremely talented @jennahbell , who also lent her beautiful voice to the track, suggested to delete half of what I had that it seemed to land at its final destination. It’s hard for me to share my work, especially when I’m in it, but being vulnerable usually gets me to where I need to be, and this was no different. Hope you enjoy the journey. Oh and I am singing at the top of the track.
