107. I Am Kloot - I Am Kloot (Echo, 2003)

I am Kloot is a special band to me. I first discovered them through a music documentary on tv called ‘Quiet is the New Loud’, which tried to fit bands like Turin Brakes, Kings of Convenience and I Am Kloot together, all representing a new acoustic movement. 

Except I am Kloot is not an acoustic band. For me, they represent a sort of sincerity. I saw them perform twice, and they are just some blokes making honest music, making them one of the friendliest bands I know. 

Their second album takes me back to the time when I was only 18. I had an mp3-player which could hold 3 or 4 albums at the most. I am Kloot was on there when I first went to college, and I distinctly remember walking in a city, early in the morning, with John Bramwell singing to me and lifting this sense of melancholy I felt. Eveyrtime I listen to this album, I get transported back to that place.
