The Fated Meeting

Gazelle woke up with a start, then sighed as she realized where she was. It wasnât that she didnât appreciate being somewhere safe, it was just everything else that came with it: the loneliness, the guilt she knew wasnât deserved but remain there anyway, but mostly it was the anger.
She didnât even look at her legs as she rolled out of bed and into the chair. It let her move around, but didnât replace the feeling of self dependence sheâd once had. Even on her own, there were things she couldnât do.
What she wouldnât give to be able to walk around again.
