better than I could have expected or asked for - but I'm glad to be home.
Witnessing a Marathon first hand is way more inspiring than I expected... especially when one of your friends rounds that last corner and you see that revelating smile break from the blood, sweat and pain endured from the literal and figurative long road traveled to reach that single life changing, life achieving monumental moment. [Yes. That sentence took me about 10 minutes to write. Words is hard.] Smitty just did the hell outta life... and that should totally be the "been there done that" to the Do Life shirts.
Not only inspired by Smitty, but the numerous amount of people rounding that last corner... from the blind led by a seriously true and dedicated friend, the disabled and the military in full uniform and backpacks. I was not prepared to witness this. Not because it made my eye balls sweat or anything like that... more so because I'm not ready to want to do this yet - and I'm totes there now.
The Half first. (Possibly 2? SWH? Ehhhh? Still don't know...) Don't wanna loose my head about this, now.
Speaking of the Half... I've GOT to get my crap together on this. Training has been pretty spot on in the running department (minus ankle pains), cross/strength training not so much, and the food... I've been eating all the things. Especially this weekend. Being the good friend that I am, I've had sympathy hunger pains with Smitty and we have LITERALLY ate ALLTHETHINGS. I would list, but it's a little ridiculous at this point. Not for Smitty - he freak'n deserves and needs it. But me? (Insert buzzer sound here.)
Now, I'm going to go enjoy my last day of EATINGALLTHETHINGS... tomorrow I get serious in all aspects of my training.
