do the uniima not chew their food at all if they hold both the plates and utensils with their 2nd jaw? Do they have strong stomachs that prevent them from choking or are they are certain to always eat small or mushy food that makes it a non issue? Do they have strong stomachs that mean they never have to really worry about choking
It's true Uniima generally prefer soft foods like fruit and eat many mushy things but they can chew too.
While using their beak and "tongue hands" for manipulation, they have adapted their secondary mechanisms for processing.
Because breathing and digestive system is completely separated, Uniima and their ancestors have lot of control over their throat and bonus organs to get rid of things or push things farther. The clade that Uniima belong to have different levels of tooth covering in these parts.
This back "jaw" is not the strongest because it's not as well jointed or muscular for chewing but it does get the job done. Most of the remains will get finished by the stomach acids that are still stronger than those of a human because of the uniima wyvern ancestry (true wyverns generally swallow large prey whole).

One of the true tragedies of my getting older is that I can no longer eat empty carbs (popcorn, chips, etc.) without my stomach letting me know that although I may have deposited matter into it, it wasn’t “real food” and who do I think I’m fooling with this nonsense.
