This simple icing recipe allows you to decorate cookies without the need for a piping bag. It's perfect for beginners or when you don't have fancy decorating tools on hand.
Ingredients: 2 cups powdered sugar. 2-3 tablespoons milk. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Food coloring optional. Baked cookies.
Instructions: Put the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a medium-sized bowl and mix them together. To make icing, whisk the ingredients together until they are smooth and thick. If you want the icing to be a certain color, you can add food coloring and mix it well. Place a baked cookie on a clean surface after it has cooled. Drop a little icing into the middle of the cookie with a spoon. Spread the icing out gently with the back of the spoon so that it covers the whole cookie. Do the same thing with the rest of the cookies. Before you serve or store the cookies, let the icing set and harden. To make the cookies look even better, you can add sprinkles or other decorations while the icing is still wet.
