Back to school this morning 💗. . I filled the sensory bin with magnetic tiles for something quick and easy. And I swapped all the books for Easter books— they sat there reading books for a solid half hour without prompting so that’s a good lesson in swapping things out like that! . 1. I put their names on eggs (they each had their own stack and colors) to line up. So simple but H loved it, especially as he’s learning to spell out last name. . 2. Dot marker letters . 3. Cookie sheets with fun stickers I made into magnets, thanks to aunt Beth. They did not understand the pattern concept with this yet...but had fun playing their own way. . 3. These dinosaur matching cards I found for like $3 on amazon the other week — match the dinosaur to its skeleton. Luckily, the borders are matching colors so you can kinda cheat, making it fun and not too hard. . 5. Buttons to string on pipe cleaners — fun once they got the hang of it. . 6. An opposites puzzle I laminated — great pictures (will have to look on my computer and give credit in a comment tmrw). . . Biggest lesson for me: just another reminder to have patience with M. It is SO hard for her to do this stuff “solo” while I teach. No matter how much fun she’s having working with H (or on her own), the second I start talking to my class, she “needs” me for smthg, she starts whining and crying...and that’s okay bc she’s two, right...?? In the moment, when 16 teenage faces are staring back at you on zoom to finish your thought about Napoleon, her behaviors can feel so frustrating though. . So once my class ended, I made sure to go through these trays with M. She had partially done them but not realllllly. And in the end, they both filled up their first reward card and got small toys. They were thrilled! .
