#ear wings

First finished pierced ear wing for grian

Did my best to guess but how the hell would you get piercings on a wing I don’t know

apologies if these are no good . just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and am drawing to keep my mind off the pain and discomfort T^T

anyhoo , heres some wing-ear flap & wiggle stims ^^

Ingredients List:

eva foam 3mm (Brand Silly Winks, $6.49 from Hobby Lobby) [Can be substituted for cardboard or something similar if you don't mind your wings being rigid.]

felt (~$3 from Daiso) [Highly recommended- I never bought it because it came in a bag, and I was scared it would be very stiff and cheap, but it's flexible and soft!!]

craft wire (Brand Acculon, $2.99 at Hobby Lobby) [As soon as I walked out of the store, I realized I could've just used pipe cleaners. Craft wire is best, but pipe cleaners should work fine if you can't get any.]

scissors

hot glue

(I also used pipe cleaners, but that's totally optional.)

Instructions:

1.) Create a base out of paper using bird references, etc. Took me a few tries before I was satisfied with my product.

2.) Create a wing "frame" (this supposedly makes it more flexible in the final product and also uses less materials). Trace and cut out four of these bad boys out of your eva foam.

3.) Sandwich a length of wire between two of those frames with hot glue. Leave some excess wire at the end, so you can tie the wings to the headband later. (I had 5 in extra, but you could get away with 3 or 4.)

4.) Cut out feathers with the felt. I started with a paper pattern, then traced it out. Cut two copies, one for each wing. Remember to make the second face the other way, so that the pen marks don't show up.

5.) Do the same for the back. It's less intricate, because I am not making myself cut out even more. [also, this is a grian cosplay. is it even a grian cosplay if the back is done? /j]

9.) Glue all those felt pieces together. Sandwich the frame between two felt wings.

10.) Using the excess wire, wrap it around the headband. You're done!
