she’s seen too much. enough, that the moment she takes a step forward she halts. fine tuned ears picking up on a just barely there sound - crackling, wind, tell - tale signs of disaster in a world like hers. four quick steps backwards and she’s drawing her bow, though it’s unclear where she should be aiming. eyes darting back and forth, lara’s seconds away from sneaking a hand onto her belt and tapping her walkie - the least she can do is send jonah a last minute sos before whatever it is reveals itself. but then it appears in a flash, tufts of brown hair and blue light, bright enough for her to squint and relax her grip on the string. “ what the hell? ” spoken aloud, less of a question and more of an inclination to believe she’s hallucinating. dreaming. knocked out on the temple floor and lifeless.
her aim shifts to the figure, arrow knocked and ready to loose at a moment’s notice. “ what are you? what do you want? ” it was easier to ask questions, easier to pretend that this is all real and not a figment of her imagination. a careful step closer to help her inspect, eyes locked onto the glowing object - determined to figure out what, if any, symbol resides there. “ did trinity send you? ” the obvious answer, they’d not left her alone in ages - nor she them, if she were being completely fair. but some things were better that way, so long as lara kept the upper hand, things would be fine. what wasn’t fine was an unwelcome intruder, one that’d seemingly appeared from nothingness. “ don’t move or i’ll shoot. ”
