“Welcome to the Wonder Wheel!” Phoenix greeted the next customer in line. “It’s one of the oldest Ferris wheels in the Midwest! Soar almost 150ft above Edgewood and get a great view of the Mississippi!” She loved the thrill of the carnival, with all of the people and lights and fun booths. She also enjoyed getting to sell it to other people, using her tried and true skills from the Mystery Shack. “And also make sure to stop by the Mystery Shack booth and sign up for our raffle to receive tokens of the mysterious and strange.” Being dramatic for a cause is an art. And education was a very good cause, but she didn’t feel as warm and fuzzy about helping the PTA leader Karen. The few times Phoenix had met her, she had seemed well-intentioned, but a bit...narrow-minded and maybe the smallest amount entitled. Phoenix finished her spiel with a wave of her arms and a twirl, coming out of the twirl with her arm outstretched for a ticket. She didn’t go through the entire routine for every customer, for cries of wasting time and slowing the line, but now there was a lull in the line.
