so I got this anon aaaaaages ago and I never responded to it because I couldn’t think of anything. but now I have! 

so my headcanon for e2!merlance goes like this. laurel goes by dinah, and tommy goes by thomas. both of them were in a poly relationship with ollie. they both lost ollie to the queen’s gambit and found comfort in each other, but thomas also found himself turning to drink. he didn’t get help in time unfortunately and he died of alcohol poisoning, which caused dinah to spiral even further, so she decided to leave starling city to go to central city for a fresh start, which is when the particle accelerator exploded. 

a year later, when dinah was at the height of her villainy, a new player came to central city called the dark archer. she confronts him, because this is her turf and she controls central city. she unmasks him and realises it’s thomas, who was brought back from the dead by his father. (shortly after this thomas ended up killing his father in a rage of bloodlust.) thomas is unhinged and his bloodlust is out of control. somehow he doesn’t kill dinah on sight - because he remembers her. dinah finds herself helping him control his bloodlust, and the two of them go out together as partners in crime and then have hot sex after, just because they can. they go on a mission to kill robert queen once they realise he’s the green arrow, because they’ve always resented him for surviving where ollie didn’t. 

so before black siren came to earth-1 with zoom, she and thomas (he goes by thomas and she goes by dinah) are e2!central city’s most feared villains. thomas isn’t a metahuman, but he was raised from the dead by his father (after the gambit went down tommy died of alcohol poisoning) using the lazarus pit and has a bloodlust that is uncontrollable, and the green arrow (aka robert queen) is no match for him and has been defeated many times by him before. 

but the way robert eventually dies is in fact at dinah’s hand. dinah has always been bitter towards him, ever since he returned from lian yu and ollie died on the gambit. tommy hates him for the same reason - because on earth-2 he and ollie were best friends too, and the three of them were actually in a poly relationship after dinah dated one and then the other and then decided she wanted them both. and then ollie was ripped from both of them, just as tommy was starting to fall in love with ollie, and dinah was already in love with him at that point as she had been since she was a teenager. 

so dinah and tommy plot to kill robert once they figure out he’s the green arrow. (he did what oliver did on earth-1 and got caught early to be eliminated as a suspect so no one realised it was him.) when they find him they tell him that for all his talk about how so-called villains failed the city, he was the one who failed his son. and tommy admits that the three of them were in a relationship and it was actually working and then ollie was taken from both of them and was the reason both of them went dark. and as dinah says, once you let the darkness inside, it never comes out. then dinah screams until robert’s ears bleed, and then for good measure she stabs him with one of thomas’s arrows.

so that’s it. that’s their villain origin story. :)
