It’s Been A While

My new job has kept me really busy. I haven’t gone out as much or produced as many shows I have in the past, and I think that’s because my professional life has been challenging in a good way. It’s been a long time that I’ve been this challenged and I needed it. I’m still writing though. I just spent about 3 hours catching up with my friend Lionel, an Evergreen graduate and recent transplant to the Bay Area who I haven't seen in person in close to two years. Lionel and I spent some time awhile back working on wheelhouse together, an online literary journal/e-chapbook publisher "edited" by David Wolach. I put "edited" in quotes because wheelhouse is very much a collaboration between David and whomever he manages to surround himself with at the time. Lionel and I worked with other former students of David's, David himself, as well as the many contributing poets, both those with "names" and unknowns (not to mention David's indispensable partner, Elizabeth Williamson). Lionel worked in more of an editorial capacity, and I as a chapbook designer (for example, Tracers, Uche Nduka's chapbook at the top of the main link I've posted here).
