Two days in a row?! My supervisor found a little woodlouse hunter spider in her office. Poor little lady looked like she was on her last legs (no pun intended); her front legs would barely uncurl, and her abdomen was very shriveled. I gave her a little drink of water and set her outside. I've been seeing this post circulating around social media saying that these spider's are deadly, and that people have died from their bites. THE ALLEGATIONS IN THAT POST ARE FALSE. These spiders (as almost all others are) are in fact venomous, but their venom is medically insignificant. The worst you might get would be some irritation, similar to a minor insect bite. Please don't kill these little guys without thinking. Find a way to set them free in a safe place. Disclaimer: Please do not handle random spiders. I picked this one up with bare hands because I knew what it was. Whenever I encounter an unfamiliar spider, I always do my research before handling them. #DysderaCrocata #WoodlouseHunter (at Parsippany, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnEVnjPAfAVwY9uSnj2Bnnc9H-1j4eb6e4msWY0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=qr3bg7ylqeop
