Naples - Quartieri Spagnoli (35mm Kodak Tri-X 400 in Finol) by tjshot Naples, Spanish Quarters. Italy. Testing Kodak Tri-X 400 film in Moersch Finol developer. Love the way Tri-X 400 flares! Shot with an Olympus 35 SP 35mm film camera. Exposed EI 240, F 4. Developed in Moersch Finol 1+75, 5.30 minutes at 28°C, first minute constant agitation then 2 inversions every 20 seconds. Fixed in Moersch ATS alcaline fixer to preserve the stain, 6.30 minutes, first minute constant agitation then 10 seconds inversions at beginning of each minute Washed in flowing tap water for 8 minutes. Scanned to true optical 2900dpi with a custom macro setup, then resized. No sharpening or noise reduction applied. Original file available. High developer temperature takes a toll on grain size here, but decent performance nevertheless. Decent performance in Finol, but for Tri-X at EI 240 I definitely prefer CG 512 / Rollei RLS. https://flic.kr/p/2h9Ayr3

Everybody who knows me should know that I love #architecture. There's no way I can pass up a pretty #SecondEmpire #house, especially with a cute white picket fence, and a lovely front yard. Every town on #CapeCod has beautiful houses from a bygone age. Would you believe that this image is really twenty-one shots at different exposures and slightly turned vantage points to create the lush detail and color while displaying the broad #dynamicrange of light similar to what the eye can see? This isn't an image you can make when you just grab a fast lens and shoot off a snapshot. Photographing Cape Cod is about the whole place and showing travelers the stuff they ride right by in their way to someplace else. This way, the may get a little more time with that area they didn't get to explore as well. There are some pretty amazing photographers here. Their work keeps me on my toes. It's too bad Instagram won't let photographers be photographers without Creating stories and reels and whatever short form video will come next.
