Just be yourself!
Lovesick is such a smart show in the way that it doesn’t let you rest comfortably in any of the romcom tropes but instead insists on making you watch how these couples either do or don’t work in real life regardless of how compelling their meet-cute was.
Obviously they do this with Dylan and every single woman he dates on the show—any one of them could be a romcom plot in its own right—but it also does this with Angus and Holly, and Luke and Jonesy. Just because something has an exciting initial connection doesn’t mean that it’s the real thing! You don’t have a magical moment and then every problem is solved and you understand how to relationship!
But the show is also brilliant because it isn’t a pessimistic view on love either. Dylan and Evie have genuine real true love and they’ve struggled hard to get that. Finding love might not solve all of your problems (and love is going to keep being complicated even when it’s with the right person!) but it’s still going to be a Good Thing in your life. Lovesick is ALSO good because it says (at least to me) that even if you don’t find love you’re still going to be ok because you have your friends and you’ll get there eventually. Anyway watch lovesick.
