“ J-Just gimme a second—!! ”

    The slayer practically wheezed, bending over and resting hands on shaking knees.. The exercise was strenuous to the point where the boy could feel his lungs writhing.. That being said.. It baffled him when he lifted his gaze, only to see a nonchalant smile decorating the ice pillar’s face. Had it not been for the exhaustion overwhelming him in the moment.. The exasperation in his own features would have been entirely unconcealed.

“Ah, wait–” Luna was barely able to formulate even the slightest protestations before Douma snagged her like a riptide, the demon engulfing her petite form in his embrace like an eclipse. Already was she beginning to distantly regret the side-braid she’d put her hair in for the sake of work that had to be done, too impatient for its usual braids and ponytail. Work that would have her extremely preoccupied in the mid-level medical labs Fenestala was equipped with, yet it seemed that wouldn’t be the case. “Douma, I have work that has to be done,” the princess huffed as he embraced her tightly, indignation deflating to the attentions on her neck. Her body tensed at his ministrations, feeling awkward, but…not unwilling.

Like a ghost, he had come into her life and began haunting it. Praying on a woman who had no one, no one but the dead to encompass and remember until her dying days. Maybe once she’d been holy, but no longer. Lunafreya could sense his power, wrathful and sublime despite how he hid it obstinately behind easy smiles and the occasional flash of fangs, to remind her of the predator she’d let into the hen house. Why? Maybe she was tired of being the only one who burned on hallowed ground. 

A dare. His digits clawed to the scalp, her head wrenched back.

Yet, Lunafreya’s eyes are unflinching, her lips pulled back in a snarl.

          kyojuro  senses  the  foul  presence  of  the  foe  who  robbed  him  of  his  eye  long  before  he  sees  him,  his  footsteps  drawing  to  an  abrupt  halt  as  a  sickening,  gleeful  bloodlust  wraps  around  him  like  a  thick  fog,  sending  a  prickle  of  dread  down  his  spine.  never  one  for  apprehension,  kyojuro’s  calloused  fingers  wrap  readily  around  the  hilt  of  his  blade  as  he  deepens  his  breathing  and  lowers  his  centre  of  gravity  to  assume  a  combative  stance.  the  upper  moon’s  presence  looms  ever  closer  and  he  unsheathes  his  katana,  deathly  silent as  he  waits  for  the  oni  to  finally  burst  into  view.

                                                                  he’s  not  left  waiting  long.

She slightly jumped in surprise. She certainly did not expect anyone to show up while she was plucking some herbs. Especially at night. In the middle of nowhere. She calmly got up and turned towards the stranger and respectfully bowed.
