OH DO THE LENA IMAGE
The Lenna Image as it is often called is an image of Swedish model Lena Forsen (spelled Lenna oftentimes to communicate that it is leh-nah not lee-nah).
The photographer is Dwight Hooker and she was the centerfold for Playboy magazine in November 1972.
It's often used in image processing, but I won't pretend to understand how or why. I don't know much about tech and I won't lie about it.
My first gut reaction is that she's very fancy looking. She looks like an old-timey woman playfully putting things on selectively to have a bit of fun with her husband/secret lover/secret lesbian lover.
It also does give a bit of the impression of a kid playing dress up. The feather boa, the baby doll and rocking horse in the background. As someone who's not got a Whole Thing about sexualizing things from childhood it does make my skin crawl a little, I won't lie!
(This is, in no way, me shaming people into like, ageplay. All the power to you, whatever gets your rocks off as long as it's safe sane and consensual. Just wanna clarify, cause I know people get judgy about those kinda kinks when they're uncomfortable with them oftentimes)
It does call to mind the vague echoes of feminist critiques of men infantilizing women for their own sexual gratification. I can hear the hallways of women's studies lecture halls when I look at this. The commodification of her (not by playboy, by the involvement of this picture in the tech sector) just kinda brings to mind too much feminist theory and critique, y'know? That isn't, by any means, my main area of interest vis a vis academics, but I do remember the general shape of those essays and presentations in classes to get weirded out more.
The nature of it is playful, the warm colors are very cute, I love the palette. But it just doesn't hit me as very erotic, personally.

The now infamous image would later become a standard test image in digital image processing, where it is known as Lena Image. (I just learned about her in this fascinating video!)
